Neoplatonic Virtue: Proclus' Socratic Death
In this class, we see how Marinus presents Proclus as a Socratic philosopher, setting up a series of parallels between the death of Socrates as it is narrated in the Phaedo and the death of Proclus. This connects the previous discussion of Marinus' Life of Proclus with our next theme: Damascius' Commentary on Plato's Phaedo, which I introduce and that we start discussing.
