I think so too . The meforshim work very hard to try and make out the different shitos in theology each friend had and what job said etc.

Maybe it’s true there were shitos, it’s hard to tell due to the obtuseness of the text. Also possibly there are some theological concepts here but they are poorly definied and structures. Most likely the meforshim are just projecting their own ideas on the text. Which is really a long rambling debate with poems and stuff but not really debating specific concepts.

Regarding your debate I think there is more.

My grandfather had a birthday motzash (76 kah..) so his brother gave a whole speech about that he survived the Holocaust to see kids and einiklach blabla you know this speech.

Anyway he was telling some stories about his father and said he asked him טאטי, האסט דען נישט געהאט קיין קשיות אויפן באשעפער? So he answered, אוודאי האט מען געהאט קשיות, אבער מען האט געוואוסט אז עס זענען נישטא קיין תירוצים.

And bezchus this emuna blabla iva letziyon goel.

So i was thinking, this is emuna? Sounds like kefira to me to say there are no answers..

Meaning to say the sentiment he expressed to me is this. Well we already had job we had Moses we had Jeremiah all asking the same question everyone had terutzim but after all this time it’s basically agreed that there are no good answers. So a certain fatigue of even asking sets in, historically. And this fatigue is basically our faith that there are no answers but anyway who cares let’s just wear shtreimels and celebrate the nitzachon on Hitler by having lots of babies.

I guess this is old news, but interesting to note how maybe the guy who actually became an apikores had more emuna than this guy.
