Commentary on the Republic: Wars amongst the Gods

in this class we go over Prolcus' allegorical interpretation of war/dissension amongst the goss in myths. He gives 2 (maybe 3) possible interpretations: either the myth maker wanted to portray the distinctions that exist among divine genera (purifying vs. generative gods or Sameness vs. Difference) or he wanted to portray the unity-and-diveristy of the gods that in our level only exists filled with opposition (or he portrays the lowest level of the gods their daimones, amongst whom there really can be enmity and the causes of vice). along the way I realize something important about how to understand divine orders and functions.
