Elements of Theology The Good, Change, and Analogy

In this class, we start the section 14-20, the third ascent to the first principle after 1-6 (first principle as Unity) and 7-13 (first principle as Goodness, Cause and Unity) and now we have 14-20, the first principle as beyond all the causes of change.

14 presents the basic ontology of change (things that are changed by others, self-changers/intrinsically changed, the unchanged or immautable) 15-17 (see in next class) will give an argument for selfchangers as simple, 18-19 are basic propositions on causality that are then required to prove 20, where we get that Soul is beyond bodies, Nous is beyond Soul and Unity is beyond Nous.

At the beginning I return to the topic of goodness from last class and discuss different ways that things can become good.
